How to Maximize Your Metabolism
Even though there are people who don’t believe that is
possible to maximize your metabolism the reality is that it is possible to
efficiently increase one’s metabolic functions. The reason many people may
feel that it is near impossible to increase their metabolism because of many
failed attempts to successfully loose weight and then keep that weight off.
This is a problem many who attempt to loose weight have.
The fact of the matter is that it is relatively simple
to maximize ones metabolism. The problems happen when people undermine their
own efforts to increase their metabolism and loose weight because they don’t
understand that there are three main components to achieve this. They may
only tackle one or two, which will give results for the short term. The 3
components of successfully maximizing ones metabolism include cardio or
aerobic exercise, resistance or weight training and a healthy diet.
Most people think resistance or weight training builds
muscle. While the end result is bigger muscles in actuality lifting weights
breaks down the muscle tissue. The body then repairs the muscles and makes
it bigger and stronger to protect the muscles from further weight training
sessions. The body burns calories during this repair process, thus an
increase in metabolism. So as you can see weight training requires calories
to be burned not only during the training session itself but also afterwards
while the muscles rebuild and repair.
Cardio or aerobic training is a high intensity way to
increase metabolism and burn calories. It is also a great way to burn up
excess carbs and keep the body from storing them as fat. As the body uses
its limited supply of carbs and sugars it will begin to tap into the bodies
fat stores to help fuel these workouts.
Diet is important because it is food that gives us the
energy to do our daily activities. The problems begin when the calories in
are more then the calories being burned. When the body is presented with
excess calories it stores them away as fat for future use. One way to get
around eating to much at each meal is to eat more meals of smaller
quantities during the day. This provides an even amount of energy throughout
the day and helps prevent binge eating.
These are three components of maximizing your
metabolism and the reason why many people have a hard time believing that it
is possible to actually increase their metabolism. They do one or two of the
components or they do all three but only take one seriously. Without a
concerted effort to do all three the bodies metabolism will never reach it
full potential. If you do all three components to maximize your metabolism
then your body will shed the fat quickly and easily.
